On Saturday, June 5th, the Upper Saddle River Recreation Commission held its 7th Annual Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon. This triathlon was open to all children ages 8-14.
The youth triathlon will incorporated swimming, biking and running. The children will began their swim at the Saddle River Valley Swim & Tennis Club, biked to Lions Park, and finished the running portion of the triathlon at Lions Park. The swimming, biking and running distances were different for the two separate age groups the children are going to be divided into.
In order to get the kids involved in the triathlon, the Recreation Commission organized a T-Shirt Design Contest for all children that live or go to school in Upper Saddle River. First prize for this contest was a bike and the winning design was printed on the triathlon t-shirt. This was a way to get the children involved in the triathlon, as well as encourage them to participate.
Raffles, food and prizes were set up in Lions Park at the finish line. Sponsors and volunteers helped. Justin Linetski Wins T-Shirt Contest
The Upper Saddle River Youth Triathlon Committee has selected Justin Linetski as the winner of 2010’s Youth Triathlon T-shirt Contest. With over 30 entries it was a very difficult decision by the Triathlon Committee. Justin will receive a new bicycle, compliments of Cyclesport in Park Ridge. The Committee would like to thank all of those children that participated in this years contest. All of the pictures will be on display at the Youth Triathlon finish line at Lions Park on Saturday, June 5th.

The

Abzug Wins T-Shirt Contest
